Hi all you Horde detectives and sniffers out of shards of information on new Huskies recruits.... Please post any but of information about new recruits that are coming UConn’s way....I am thinking UConn is in pretty good shape guard-wise but needs shoring up in the post and power forward areas.
It seems to me that ONO is very willowy and just does ‘t have the body type to gain the muscle and weight she needs not to be pushed around in the paint. Bat is more the right body type but her knee has never been right and she is not much of an offensive threat. Kyla is a good reserve but not competitive with the elite bigs..plus she is not that big....will Geno go to Europe or accept transfer(s)?

We all have our views. Mine is do the best with what we've got. Too often in my professional career I saw managers pursue persons that didn't fit the mold. Three times I worked in Geno-type organizations. His approach to have players that play the game the way it's supposed to be played works for me. NCs are nice, but team excellence is more important to me. What we do know is that starters will play more than 160 mpg on average routinely... more than 180-190 in close big games... and that our one 2019 commit, Aubrey, has excellent skills with the two 2020 commits bolstering that. It would be nice to pick up another player or two for next year, but not if Geno/CD lower their standards which could permeate the team identity... That's my view... I'm ready for coffee...

I agree, Gordon...UConn can’t lower its standards to pick up recruits or transfers..the tattoos, rolled up shorts, untucked shirts, and off court comportment is essential to the UConn legend and its future....that being said, there has to be some bigs that fit the mold that Geno and VD can snag, no?

David, So many organizations opt out of the pursuit of excellence as an expedient. I just watched Tiger win the Masters. He's an exemplar of how we can regain our direction. Many question his past behavior. Not mine to judge, but his two kids and Mom were there at the end and their joy was obvious. There's a book title that may fit here, "What You Think of Me is None of My Business." The Geno/CD premise works. Stay the course. Success is the precipitate of staying the course... and good coffee, of course.

UConn has had some young willowy players that turn into decent players, such as Cash, Jones, Greene, and Stewart. ON-O can muscle up and get accustomed to the barrage of bumps and hits and elbows in the paint as she ages and more game time. True, would like some more bigs. Be nice if Camara got healthier. Maybe some transfers or international types. If nothing else, Geno is the most famous college coach in the world leading the top WCBB brand. True, USF, FSU, and Oregon seem to grab their unfair share of international players, but it seems UConn realizes with Nurse and the new guard, that time to widen the door for international players even if some are shameless gunners that might be taught.

There are some hopeful unknowns for the Summer. I'm looking forward to how UConn plays next year without a load of vets.
