It will be interesting to see where she lands. I believe she is majoring in ASL. Houston, Cincinnati, Kansas and New Mexico have excellent ASL programs.

I was reading up on Caitlin W. from BU, and she seems like a nice forward/center. Under the guidance of Coaches C.D. and Jamelle she could be a beast!! Whew....add Ice and Janna UConn would be UNSTOPPABLE!!!!

I just do not understand the wisdom of pursuing two backcourt players in the portal when our backcourt is already very strong next year. Maybe go for one of them but use the other slot to snag a Big! Consider it to be a replacement for DeBerry. Our rebounding margin last year was +5.4. That is roughly HALF of the 22-23 season rebounding margin of +10.5. I'm not a HOF coach but I can look at numbers and draw conclusions. The post was our weakness this year, mostly due to lack of depth, and it is looking like our weakness next year too, mostly because of lack of experience. We have lots of talent that performed well at the HS level but it has not been tested at the collegiate level. Except for Ice. She has been tested but in my view she has only graded out to a 'C'. I'd love to see us aggressively pursue 6'4" Janiah Barker from Texas A&M. She is a better option than my previous pick Ajae Petty, formerly of Kentucky. Pursuing her will reduce the chances she ends up at SC to replace Cardoza too... www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/player/_/id/4565501/janiah-barker

But the question about getting a big . Will they be willing to make the commitment to play team ball That's the part easy to forget. Also, being big is not gurantee. Edey was dominant - 37 pts - in the Purdue loss.

Edey was dominant - 37 pts - in the Purdue loss. Purdue did not have two former HS POYs in their backcourt. UConn women's backcourt is way better than Purdue men's backcourt vis a vis their respective competitions. Any big who transfers to UConn will most definitely be down with playing team ball. If they are not, Geno and crew will not invite them in to begin with! .

Geno is good at finding the good ones. most of geno’s recruits are the type of quality players who think of team first me secomd. the recruits who have not succeeded at uconn were the ones not committed to the team and managed to fool geno. Amarion’s on the current list . she never really wanted to do what she needed to make the team better or even herself.
