In one of the most exciting games of the weekend, the Huskies took down Syracuse to secure their trip to the Sweet 16. Paige Bueckers was everywhere, finishing with 32 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 combined steals and blocks. She played out of position as she has much of the season and thrived against a bigger team. Buckers just makes magic happen. She scores in a phone booth with fluidity while imposing herself as a heady defender. Syracuse could not find anything defensively to make her uncomfortable. Ashlynn Shade now has 45 combined points in her first two tournament games while nailing 10 triples, and KK Arnold hit the biggest shot of her young career, a corner 3 to ice Syracuse’s hopes of a comeback..

This is what I (we) was hoping for to have multiple threats where Buckets doesn’t get all the attention. This really gives AE the space she needs for bigger games moving forward because of the outside the box play of our guards. This is why Rebecca Lobo said “don’t count UCONN out”. If there ever was a confidence booster it was the Syracuse game. Come on UCONN, I still believe we can do this!!

The recovery & Freshmen development year continues. The naysayers have left the web, excepting the clueless.

From doggy daddy:I just watched the 4th and 5th fouls on Nika in the Syracuse game.
4th. Slight contact way after the ball was gone. Fair just fell down on her own. 5th. What the hell was she thinking?
Not only did they lose their best defender to cover Fair but Geno put in Ice Brady, who struggled with the moment and turned the ball over a couple of times in that crucial Syracuse 8-0 run to close to 65-63 with 1:50 left in the game. Nika doesn't foul out and I'd be SU doesn't go on that run.

I don't think Q or Ines would have been a better sub.
