UConn moves up slightly despite the losses above them.
But more interesting is the first time (this season) ranking for the Princeton Tigers and a familar name and face. And she continues her relentless success. Maybe the next coach of UConn?
Princeton entered the Top 25 for the first time this season at No. 24 after going undefeated in the Ivy League regular season. The Tigers are 22-4 and have won 15 straight games. Princeton was last ranked for the final five weeks of the 2019-20 season. The Ivy League didn't play sports last year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
"We're very grateful to be playing this year and being back together," Princeton coach Carla Berube said. "It was over 18 months we hadn't been all together playing any kind of organized basketball. In November and December we were trying to figure things out and the team came to work every day and worked really, really hard."

UConn should be ahead of L'ville who lost in the Quarterfinals to an unranked team. They only dropped one slot. Typically that is a 2-4 slot plunge. Oh well, getup on the Court to prove who is better when most of UConn is finally healthy.

UConn is being hurt by the realtive weakness of the Big East compared to say the ACC. And, although there were injuries, Louisville did beat UConn head to head. It can be settled on the court, as you said.

It can be settled on the court, as you said. That head-to-head loss was in December. Dec. 19th, or verging on nearly 3 months back. UConn was missing 4 major players; L'ville was missing no one. Yeah, L'ville in vaunted ACC and UConn in admittedly not much better than the AAC this season. But a quarterfinal loss to an unranked ACC team is still a bad loss in the first round that L'ville played. Whereas UConn has been over-performing in hammering decent but also unranked teams for last 9 games. Polls tend to reflect more recent performance than season's opus or a head-to-head game a while back with substantial caveats. It will be decided on Court if L'ville lasts that long in the NCAAWs.

It can be settled on the court, as you said. Louisville scored 27 of their 69 points (39%) against us in the fourth quarter alone. That is also two more points than they scored in the entire first HALF. That suggests fatigue to me, just like the South Carolina game. Against Louisville, Ducharme and Williams both played all 40 minutes, Westbrook played 38, and Juhasz played 36. How could they not have been gassed at the end of that game? We led by 3 after three quarters and Louisville didn't even take the lead until midway through the fourth. I don't think that fade happens again with the solid 9 player rotation we have going today where no one plays more than 30 minutes. Let us also not forget that last time, in addition to last year's POY we were without our best defender (Muhl) and our best 3 point shooter (Fudd) against Louisville. All three are back and I think them more than capable of making up the 5 points we lost by. I'd love to face Louisville again. I think the three players we have added since last time, in addition to the revenge factor, will result in an old fashioned UConn rout!

Me also. Wouldn't it be sweet if the NCAA placed us as the fourth one seed? Bottom line is we're going to destroy the Bridgeport bracket and get our rematch with Dawn.....Louisville isn't going to survive its bracket.

I know the possibility of things being the same as seedlings by selection committee but I think in the Bridgeport region Arkansas. Is seeded 9th whiich means if they win their first round. Would possibiy meet the 1 which is Nc state now .A hot Arkansas team could beat them helping UConn

She is his clone and then some. I think she was head coach at Jim's alma mater for awhile.

Trust me there were a lot of coaches and teams watching the BE finals. Three of the #1 seeds exhaled except NCST. Their reward for winning their conference tournament was to get placed in the Bridgeport bracket where UCONN is the #2 seeded team. If you haven’t heard me say it, here it is one more time; “heal and steal” #12!!!!!!!!!!!!.

She is his clone and then some. I think she was head coach at Jim's alma mater for awhile. Yes, she coached at Tufts, which "Roberto" and I attended. One oddity about Tufts, which is known for its Diplomacy grad school (Fletcher), dental school, and one of the topflight liberal arts school, was back in the 1970s as I recall, the Ivy League asked Tufts to join. Most schools would drool uncontrollably to be asked to join the height of American colleges that are typically stocked with the creme de la creme of American youth and elite international pupils.
Tufts told the Ivies that if they joined it would change them too much. Tufts declined the offer to join the Ivies. I suspect that Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Brown, Dartmouth, Columbia, Penn and Cornell were likely shocked as generally they have to bar their doors to keep out the clamoring populace and competition, and when they opened their golden gates to let one more in -- the invitee said thank you but no thank you.
Coach Berube did superbly at D-III Tufts women's basketball. She is now repeating her success at Princeton, admittedly closer to a mid-major than a Power 5 wannabe. Nevertheless, she is and has been impressive. Remember, her predecessor at Princeton was picked by UNC to replace Sylvia Hatchel. So it could be a launching pad for bigger chair.
