Looking at the schedule of games I can see some 3 seeds losing , even 2 seeds and I think good odds at least 1 number seed goes down . All of the 1 seeds do not have cupcake games Miami is the biggest down horse . They may not have the talent of Louisville but waltz will definitely be out coached in this one

An intriguing day. Sort of cheering for about 7-8 teams to win or to upset.

An intriguing day. Sort of cheering for about 7-8 teams to win or to upset. James, in your view, does UCONN have to hammer (25 points or more, margin of victory) their opponents in all three games to lock up the number 2 seed in Bridgeport? NC State will face the same fate that Louisville faced as a number one seed in Albany. Will Paige start with Azzi tomorrow or does he save that inevitable maneuver for the BE finals or the NCAA'S?
A starting lineup of Liv, CW, Azzi, Paige, and The Hammer works for me. Starting on Saturday. And then like a hockey team with a hole different line subbing, in comes E, Ali, Dorka, and Caroline, AKA The Silent Assassin.

Earlier ths year I said, in jest, Geno could use group substtution as has been done in football. To my surprise he did that in the first subsitution on Paige's return. He has the guns. Running in lusters of three or so who play together a lot could be interesting.

A starting lineup of Liv, CW, Azzi, Paige, and The Hammer works for me. Starting on Saturday. And then like a hockey team with a hole different line subbing, in comes E, Ali, Dorka, and Caroline, AKA The Silent Assassin. Jerry, if the #2-seeds UM and LSU had not lost in their quarterfinals, and maybe lost in their semifinals to a ranked team, then UConn would have likely needed to hammer DePaul and Villanova by 25-30 apiece. The margin against G'town is almost immaterial if it is 30 or 40 or 50. But Michigan lost, and they were 8th team in the NCAAW Reveal and UConn 9th. So UConn beats DePaul by 15 and beats Villanova by 15, they should move ahead of Michigan and take their #2-seed in Bridgeport. With LSU, the 7th in the Reveal also losing, I suspect UConn can edge by them with good margin wins of 20 or more against its semi and finals foes in the BE. What might occur, is perhaps the Selection Committee thinks NCST does not deserve a #2-seed like UConn in UConn's backyard. To punish L'ville's early loss, they shift from Wichita to B'port, and have to deal with UConn on a CT court. In Wichita, the #2-seed could be Texas. That is an easier foe for NCST. They are not overly using the "G" Curve but the "S" Curve. So we all could get a surprise and see $1 L'ville vs. #2 UConn in the usual fun and games Geno vs. Jeff Sarcasm Bowl.

If reports of Geno carrying John Wooden's book with him in the early days are true he may have adoped two of Wooden's guiding principles. First, winning and losing are not focus items, successful play is. Next, players should not watch the scoreboard, that's the coaches job. Players paly at their highest level following the plan. One key to success is focus. Multitasking is a myth. Focusing on one's play is essential. Focusing on the score is a distraction and can alter one's play.
